Theo values the incredible time, effort, talent, and creativity that goes into writing Episodes and Collections (collectively called “stories”), and we’re committed to protecting authors’ rights as content creators.

Our Terms & Conditions of Use and Content Guidelines clearly prohibit posting the copyrighted works of others without their legal consent. As a service provider, we also comply with all applicable provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”). Any valid complaints and notices will be expeditiously investigated and the infringing material will be removed or made inaccessible to readers.

Repeat Infringers

In addition to the above policy, we may, when appropriate and at our discretion, terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly or actively infringe the intellectual property rights of others. If an account has multiple copyright infringements or an additional violation is discovered at a later date, the account will be closed.

Copyright only protects the physical representation of an idea, not the idea itself. Please note that titles, character names, similar plots, and similar themes do not constitute copyright infringement. If you are unsure whether a work infringes your copyright, please seek professional/legal advice before submitting a notice.

We only accept reports from individuals other than the copyright owner if the infringing content is an officially published work (published works with an ISBN or ASIN or self-published works on other platforms such as Amazon), as it’s easier to establish provenance for such works.

This DMCA takedown notice form ensures that the original owner is submitting the report, so we can take action without concern. If the individual who submits a DMCA report is not the owner, and the reported user submits a counter-notice, the individual who reported the content is legally liable for their report.

How to File a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe that your copyrights have been violated, please report it to us immediately by submitting a DMCA takedown Notice. Alternatively, please provide the following information to parneet@theoreads.com:

1. Your full legal name
2. Your home or mailing address
3. Your telephone number
4. If applicable, your email address
5. If your original work is located on theoreads.com (or “Theo”), your Theo username
6. A URL to your original work.
7. A description of the alleged infringement (Where it is located, what is being copied, etc.).
8. The URL(s) of allegedly infringing material located on theoreads.com.

Include both of the following statements:

"I hereby state that I have a good faith belief that the disputed use of the copyrighted material or reference or link to such material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law (e.g., as a fair use)."

"I hereby state that the information in this Notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that I am the owner, or authorized to act on behalf of the owner, of the copyright or of an exclusive right under the copyright that is allegedly infringed."
