As a born and raised New Englander and a teacher, I appreciated the realism of the setting in a small island town and the school. While I wish there was some variety in vocabulary and some elements seemed a little early in the plot, I enjoyed the characters and their romantic development very much. The forbidden teacher/principal vibes made the story engaging, and the constant secrets of both characters kept me reading to find out what they were hiding from the other. Overall, a unique take on the Fountain of Youth in a setting that is near and dear to my own heart, and I would highly recommend this for fans of that small town vibe with a secret twist!
