Meredith adjusted her tennis skirt and shook her shoulders. It had been a great workout playing her friend Allan in a match, but she was in a rush to get home because she had a dinner date, a blind date, which her best friend had hooked her up with. The guy was supposedly a lawyer for personal injury, and her friend had said he was a major catch. Meredith knew that was to be seen, and she feared a lawyer would never be a match for her, but she’d give it a go. She wanted to find a new boyfriend, and if she didn’t try things she thought wouldn’t work, she knew she was limiting herself. She needed an open mind and an open heart, or she might completely miss a fabulous partner.
She was sweaty and she lamented that she was about to enter the forested area of the walk home. She crossed her fingers that her bug spray would hold out so she wouldn’t get eaten by the tiny beasts. She had just enough time to shower before her date, and maybe do a little work, but her main thing was she needed a shower, and badly. The sun had beat down on them as they played, so the sweat had poured out of her. She felt like a wet mop and as stinky as a used one. No matter. She’d be fresh soon and ready to go on a date, albeit one she was kind of dreading....
